Jewelry is hard to buy for someone else. Asking costs you the surprise; guessing costs you the piece. So The Perfect Hint splits the job in two: one of you says what you love, and the other still chooses the piece and the moment. Gift-giving without the guesswork, and without the spoiler.

Build your taste
Swipe through a short deck of real pieces — about two minutes. The ones you keep tell us the metals, stones and styles you like, and roughly what to spend. That becomes your taste: a handful of traits, each marked strong or leaning, that you can edit by hand whenever you like. - 2
Mark hints
When you see a piece you would actually wear, mark it as a hint — with an occasion or a note, if you want. Your hints collect on your board. - 3
Invite your partner
Send one invite by email, link or QR code. Nobody is linked to you until they open it and choose to link.

Follow the link, create your account, and choose to link. Nothing is shared until you say yes. - 2
Browse, ranked by their taste
Once you are linked, browsing is ranked by your partner's taste, so the pieces they are most likely to wear come first. You still see the whole catalog, and you still choose. - 3
See their board
Their hints are there, with the occasion and note they attached. - 4
Buy on the retailer's site
Checkout happens with the retailer, at their price. We never see the order.
What each of you can and cannot see
Once you are linked, this works the same in both directions. Sharing your taste and hints is the point, so your partner sees them.
Your partner can see
- Your taste — the traits, and how strongly each one counts.
- Your hints, with the occasion and note you attached.
- That the two of you are linked.
Your partner cannot see
- What you bought, or when. You check out on the retailer's site, so we never have that record.
- What you searched for.
- The swipe counts behind your taste traits.

Where the pieces come from, and why it is free
Every piece comes from an independent jeweler or an established retailer, and you buy it on their site at their price. When you do, they pay us a commission — that is what keeps The Perfect Hint free for both of you. We never take a payment, so your card details never reach us. More on the model.
Questions
- Does my partner get notified?
- No. There are no notifications in this product. We do not email your partner when you browse, save or buy anything. The only email we ever send on your behalf is an invite you choose to send.
- Can my partner see what I bought?
- No. You check out on the retailer's site, so we never learn what you bought or when — there is nothing to show.
- Can I unlink?
- Yes. Either of you can end the partnership from the partnership page at any time. Access ends at once, in both directions, and each of you keeps your own hints and taste. Go to the partnership page
- Do you hold my card?
- No. We never take a payment. Checkout happens on the retailer's own site, so your card details never reach us.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. It is free for both of you. When you buy through a link here, the retailer pays us a commission, at no extra cost to you.
- How long does building my taste take?
- About two minutes. You can edit it by hand afterwards, or run the deck again.
